So, it has already been a couple of weeks since the anniversary!
Who’d have thunk that time can move so fast? I’ve been working hard with normal work stuff, CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) stuff, and “Kids Games” (Everybody jump up!) running for the whole of last week!
Man, it has been a lot of work, but it has also been a lot of fun. We had upward of 140 kids come to Kids Games (no more than 120 on any on day though), about 75 of which were unchurched. It really is a great point of contact with the kids of surrounding area. It also proves to be a great ecumenical exercise. It was awesome to have the Anglicans, Presbyterians, Churches of Christ, and the”Liberty Church” (pentecostal) together!
Of course, the joys of child safety mean that I can’t really show you any of the pictures (and there are lots)
Anyway…
I thought I would do a bit of a J-Moff & pose a question for those Christian readers out there (though you don’t need to be Christian to reply).
I’m thinking of doing a series with my Youth Group entitled “Ten things you need to know about Christianity.” What would you put on the list?

Hey Tim, the list is looking pretty short! I can’t think of anything to add to it either!
Um, I might not come up with ten, but I can think of a few. It is the only way. It isn’t the easy option. You can’t be half-hearted about it. It isn’t about you. It is a relationship not a list of rules.
That’s all I can come up with at the moment. You will let us know which ten things are in the series?
Martin Luther said that all youth need to know the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostle’s Creed and the 10 Commandments, and that if any child refused to learn them he should be denied bread and drink! I guess DOCS would have something to say about that these days…
We did a great series last year with our seniors where we looked at the Apostle’s Creed over a term (about 10 weeks). It was fantastic to break the Creed up and work through it, the kids really appreciated dealing with each individual aspect and it warms the cockles of my heart to see them all, 18 months later, saying the Creed in church without needing to look at the service outline for the words. I can’t think of 10 more important topics actually!
